Payee Program Assistant (Position #1280).
Part-time, salaried position with benefits to provide administrative support for the representative payee program, which helps manage social security benefits for participating individuals until they are able to manage their own money. Duties include entering deposits and processing invoices for payment, helping prepare budgets, organizing cash flow, and monitoring account balances. Also provides other accounting and data entry duties and coverage for the payment/reception window as necessary. Position requires knowledge of accounts payable and petty cash procedures; demonstrated knowledge of computer operations with related skills in data entry/processing and spreadsheet software (preferably Excel); excellent interpersonal and customer support skills; ability to pay strong attention to details; ability to work in a team as well as individually. Completion of high school or GED preferably supplemented by college or business school courses plus two years experience in accounts payable and/or administrative work. Approximately 25 hours a week.
Reimbursement Assistant.
Part-time, hourly position to perform billing and accounts receivable transactions for direct client services. Responsible for producing and tracking claims through the entire billing and collections process and providing back up to other reimbursement, financial and administrative support functions as needed within the Accounting/Reimbursement Department. Requires a technical knowledge of medical billing practices with emphasis on managed care and third-party payment requirements and demonstrated knowledge of computer operations in automated accounts receivable systems. Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and coordinate responsibilities with the work of others. Excellent computer skills and ability to perform accurate detailed work a must. Must have completed high school or GED, preferably supplemented by college or business school courses and at least four years of experience in relevant administrative support work. Approximately 20 hours a week.
Residential Advisor (Position #9075).
Full-time, salaried position to provide direct client services to adults with mental illness who live in an apartment setting. Responsibilities include supervision and supports tailored to meet individual needs both in the apartment and in various community settings. Must be able to develop and maintain supportive relationships with clients that promote recovery and independence. Positions require flexibility in work assignments and schedule; knowledge of mental illness and community supports; skills in teaching, counseling, and crisis management. Skills in communication and documentation essential. Work schedule includes afternoons, evenings, and every fourth weekend. Bachelors degree in human services or a related specialty plus one year of experience in a mental health, mental retardation, or substance abuse setting; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
SA Diversion Regional Coordinator (Position #R0091). Salaried position (full or part-time) to coordinate overall Substance Abuse Diversion Program for CSBs in Region 1. The diversion program is designed to prevent, whenever possible, admissions of consumers with primary substance use disorders, in conjunction with mental illness, to state psychiatric facilities by providing safe and appropriate community‑based diversion alternatives in the least restrictive setting available. Position develops, implements and reviews a regional Utilization Management Plan and collects and compiles data associated with utilization plan. Works closely with all CSBs in Region 1, area treatment facilities including hospitals and detox programs. Provides direct case management services to identified consumers at Western State Hospital as required, including case coordination, discharge planning and transportation. Position requires a thorough knowledge of the disease concept of chemical dependency, symptoms of addiction and withdrawal, mental health diagnosis criteria, dual diagnosis, Utilization Review Process, state hospital system, and community resources. Computer skills for data collection and report writing a must. Masters degree in human services or a related specialty plus two years of experience in a mental health, mental retardation, or substance abuse setting; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. CSAC preferred.
Community Support Coach. Part-time, temporary hourly positions to provide one-to-one help with community integration and socialization for adolescent and adult clients. Requires skills in providing on-going support or behavior management for individuals with mental disabilities. Must have valid, current driver’s license. Flexible hours to accommodate needs of individual clients. Recruitment ongoing to enlarge pool of qualified applicants.
Residential Relief Staff Temporary, hourly, part-time work to
provide direct client services to the residents of CSB operated
community-based residences. Services are provided 24 hours per day, 7
days a week. Relief staff work hours are scheduled as needed in order
to ensure staffing coverage to meet the needs of the residents,
primarily evenings, nights, and weekends. Duties include direct
training and support to residents to improve their community living
skills; supportive and/or educational counseling; crisis intervention;
providing activities with residents to promote community integration.
Position requires working knowledge of mental illness and substance
abuse; ability to work effectively with clients and service providers
in the community. Valid Virginia driver’s license required. CNAs are
