Central Virginia Training Center - CVTC, the largest of the Commonwealth's five training centers, is home to more than 600 clients who reside on our 350 acre campus and receive services through five center based programs.  Four centers are certified as Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded (ICF/MR) and one Center is certified as a Skilled Nursing Facility.  In addition to residential programs and services, CVTC also provides a Senior Citizens day activity program, recreational services, medical services (including a 24-hour physician presence, pharmacy, radiology, laboratory, respiratory therapy and EMT's), dental services, rehabilitation and vocational services, educational services and an acute care hospital.

Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents - The Commonwealth Center for Children & Adolescents, formerly known as DeJarnette Center, is an acute care, mental health facility for children and adolescents, operated by the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Substance Abuse Services, and accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.

Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia - Early intervention services are available throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia to support the development of infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities and their families. As a medical care professional, it is important for you to know about Virginia's early intervention system - the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia - and the procedures for referring children and families to it.  This site has been designed for physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals (including medical office staff, referral coordinators, et. al.) who provide and/or coordinate health care services for infants and toddlers (ages 0-36 months) and their families in Virginia.

TAPA Center for Jail Diversion - The TAPA Center was funded in 2002 by the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) of the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) via the Targeted Capacity Expansion Grants for Jail Diversion Programs.   The TAPA Center is a resource for communities developing programs to divert people with serious mental illnesses from jail into community-based treatment.

Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services Website - The mission of the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services is to improve the quality of life for people with mental disabilities and substance abuse problems by providing the very best services possible, at minimal burden to the taxpayer. The Department works to effectively treat those who need services and to prevent the development of mental disabilities and substance abuse problems. This is accomplished through a coordinated system of care that respects and promotes the dignity, rights, and full participation of individuals and their families.

Virginia Board for People with Disabilities - The Board serves as the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council for addressing the needs of people with developmental disabilities as established under the federal "Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act" and the state "Virginians with Disabilities Act." The Board advises the Secretary of Health and Human Resources and the Governor on issues related to people with disabilities in Virginia.
