General Statement of Duties:
The Children’s Community Resources Supervisor provides leadership to a team of professionals that work out in community settings with children, youth and their families. This position provides clinical leadership and administrative oversight to Children’s Community Stabilization program, Intensive Case Management Services and the Early Intervention School based program.
Community Resource Supervisor is under the direct supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health Services. The Supervisor is expected to exercise considerable independence and autonomy in day-to-day decision-making related to the delivery of coordinated treatment services and to carry out or coordinate services with a minimum of supervision. The position requires expertise and leadership abilities in coordinating various services, mental health and substance abuse treatment, diagnosis, crisis intervention and assessment with at-risk children and youth. Also required is the ability to work with others teams and service providers, both within the Board system and within the community, good judgment, the ability to develop creative approaches to services delivery, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
This position is classified exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Major Essential Functions:
Provides direct supervision and service development and delivery oversight to the Early Intervention clinicians working in the public schools;
Provides direct supervision and delivery oversight to the Children’s Mobile Crisis clinicians;
Provides direct supervision the Intensive case manager;
Provides direct services as needed for supervising departments to assist with meeting the needs of clients served in respective programs;
Serves as alternate for FAPT and Child Specific Team meetings;
Coordinates and provides group psychoeducational services to court-ordered youth;
Regularly reviews and provides feedback to team members on clinical documentation;
Meets established agency standards for same-day document and staff productivity;
Assists in the development of individual supports and access to community resources to the target population, establishes and maintains a team approach to meeting the needs of individuals served;
Provides crisis intervention as needed;
Receives/participates in administrative and team supervision under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health Services;
Assures compliance with agency policy, client rights, confidentiality, licensure regulations, and Medicaid regulations as applicable for supervising programs;
Maintains effective relationships with co-workers and customers based on courtesy, compassion and respect;
Participates in training and staff development opportunities needed to enhance job-related skills and maintain licensure;
Makes effective use of available technology, including computers, e-mail, and voice mail in order to enhance customer service;
Performs other related functions as needed, consistent with organizational objectives, policies and procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of principles, practices and methods of mental health and substance abuse interventions; demonstrated leadership skills needed to supervise a team to produce a desired outcomes, evidenced-based individual and group therapeutic techniques; crisis intervention/emergency services skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team with consumers, supervised staff, co-workers, and service providers from the community; ability to work effectively as part of a therapeutic team; knowledge of and adherence to ethical standards appropriate for a therapeutic relationship; ability to devise and conduct education and training programs for consumers and service providers; ability to write concisely and effectively using recognized best practices for all documentation; ability to meet timelines for documentation and administrative/supervisory directives; demonstrated good judgment; good interpersonal skills. Computer literacy and work processing skills are required.
Additional Requirement: Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in human services or a related specialty plus two years of experience in a mental health, mental retardation, or substance abuse setting; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Professional licensure required. Staff member is responsible for submitting proof of license renewal to the Human Resources office.

Work Environment: General office environment with normal lighting levels, temperature, air quality, ventilation, and noise levels.
Work Location: HRCSB, 1241 North Main Street and other sites as determined by program needs.
Work Hazards: Minimal hazards associated with treatment programs.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, regular office hours; some evening and weekend hours required as scheduled. Additional hours as needed to perform job requirements. Regular attendance is required.
