Crisis Stabilization Unit Nurse (LPN or RN)
Be a part of the dynamic, interdisciplinary team teaching and supporting individuals experiencing psychiatric crisis. HRCSB is seeking full-time nursing staff who are proficient in the field, yet sensitive to the challenges individuals face when dealing with a psychiatric crisis. Arbor House is a short-term, 7-bed crisis stabilization program working with folks to avoid psychiatric hospitalization, or stepping down from hospital setting before returning home. Duties include standard nursing practices, as well as working with team of mental health professionals to ensure high quality care to those experiencing a psychiatric crisis. This position provides opportunities for engaging on an individual level, facilitating teaching moments, and life skill development outside of general nursing duties. Candidates must be registered and in good standing with the Virginia Board of Health Professions as a Licensed Practical Nurse or as a Registered Nurse.

Staff Accountant II
Harrisonburg Rockingham Community Services Board (HRCSB) has an immediate need for a Staff Accountant. Established in 1972, HRCSB is quasi-governmental agency that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, chart of accounts, general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliation, Microsoft office and software systems. Knowledge of capital assets, prepaid expenses and accruals are preferred. The ability to be a team player and provide support across functions as needed; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; exceptional interpersonal skills to obtain and clarify complex information; and obtain the cooperation of others within and outside of the agency. ACT Peer Recovery Specialist
HRCSB is seeking a qualified individual who is passionate about recovery and empowering individuals to join our team of Peer Recovery Specialists! The role of a Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) is to provide non-clinical, person-centered, strength-based, wellness focused, and trauma informed support while helping to ensure the individual’s Recovery, Resiliency, and Wellness Plan aids an individual in living a meaningful and independent life in the community. Peer Recovery Specialists are individuals who identify themselves as having lived experience with mental health and/or substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder, and are in active long-term recovery. Preferred candidates are those who are insightful about their recovery and articulate their experience well to others. Successful Peer Recovery Specialists are able to offer encouragement and support without judgment. PRS will offer services in individual and group settings at the Agency and in the community. This position is part of our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team to provide services to adults with a serious mental illness diagnosis, substance use disorder diagnosis, and/or co-occurring disorder. The PRS meets regularly with the team of HRCSB Peers and Peer Program Coordinator for mutual support and guidance. This position is full time and may include evening and weekend coverage.
Assertive Community Treatment Supervisor
HRCSB is seeking a qualified individual to lead our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team as the Supervisor. This position’s primary responsibility is to create and oversee our ACT team and program, in coordination with the Director of Community Mental Health Services. Our ACT team, in a partnership with our Permanent Supportive Housing program, will provide community based wrap around services to individuals with serious mental illness who are in need of stable housing.
The ideal candidate will possess considerable knowledge of adult and geriatric psychology in mental health and substance use disorders; knowledge of treatment planning for individuals having these problems; skills in assessing psychopathology; and experience crisis intervention. Knowledge and experience with ACT model of treatment is a plus. Supervision experience preferred.
Education preferred is graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in human services, plus 3 years of experience in a mental health, developmental disorders or substance use setting or a related human services field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Professional licensure or Licensed Eligible required.

Emergency Services Clinician
Hourly position providing crisis intervention and evaluation to persons experiencing mental health or substance use emergencies. Position requires strong clinical and problem solving skills, and the ability to work as a member of a team is essential. Good diagnostic, evaluative, emergency intervention and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to work effectively with service providers from other agencies, as well as, with people who are experiencing a high level of stress. Master’s degree in human services and professional license (LPC or LCSW) or license eligible preferred. Will consider Bachelor’s degree in human services or QMHP with at least two years’ experience in mental health field. Licensure supervision and on the job specialized training will be available. Flexible work schedule with day and evening hours available.
Developmental Disabilities Case Manager
Full-time, salaried position, to provide case management and coordination for individuals with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, many of whom receive Medicaid-funded waiver services. Activities include planning, linking, and service coordination as well as monitoring of service provision. Position requires ability to organize, manage, and document complex services involving consumers, families, and private providers. Candidates need the ability to work effectively with a varied range of ages and disability levels. Requires knowledge of developmental disabilities and documentation procedures; and a working knowledge of client rights and local service systems. Bachelor’s degree in human services plus developmental disability work experience or relevant education that indicates possession at entry level the knowledge, skills, and abilities indicated above.
